Toyota’s family of electrified vehicles

Toyota has been among those leading the charge of the electrified vehicle movement for over 20 years. We’re proud to offer the country’s largest selection of EV models, divided into three main categories: hybrid electric, plug-in hybrid and battery electric. Whatever your lifestyle or driving needs, we have the EV that’s right for you.

Battery electric vehicles: Power used wisely.

Battery electric vehicles only use electricity and produce zero emissions. All you have to do to enjoy a fully electric drive is charge your vehicle by plugging it into an outlet or charging station. Plus, the battery charges up partially while you’re driving thanks to regenerative braking, among other things, which means more range. And since the motor doesn’t run on gas or fuel, you enjoy lower ownership and maintenance costs.

Plug-in hybrid vehicles: The best of both worlds.

Hybrid electric vehicles use two sources of energy (gas engine and electric motor), combined with a high-powered battery. They have all the perks of a hybrid model, but you can also go fully electric—which means zero emissions—during short trips. All you have to do is plug in your vehicle for a few hours to power it up! When the battery is depleted, the gas engine automatically takes over. That’s the beauty of hybrid. So, you can do more with less, all while lowering your carbon emissions.

Hybrid electric vehicles: The freedom to go where you please.

With a hybrid electric vehicle, you can drive like you usually do, all while reducing your fuel costs and carbon emissions by up to 30% in comparison with its gas-powered equivalent.1 Equipped with a gas engine and electric motors, HEVs either alternate between or combine two sources of energy to minimize fuel consumption, without you having to do a thing. And you don’t have to plug in your vehicle, either, because the hybrid battery charges up while you’re driving, thanks to regenerative braking.
